So its clear that Taking life as it comes means be strong enough to accept whatever come in your way irrespective of all the hard work that you put in….
"There is no God. I can take care of myself and am fully responsible for what I want"
"I am nothing but a drop in the ocean. I am totally surrendered to the eternal and God takes care of all my needs."
I could easily argue that the above two statements, though sounds contradictory, mean the same. The surrender to something / someone does not happen when one is not responsible of oneself (of course, there is a different between active surrender and passive surrender)
So in my view "Taking life as it comes" does not mean much as words, It all depends on ones attitude who uses it :)

Do we have control over certain things in life? My answer is no..so u have to take it as it comes..but if you apply that to everything in your life..u become lazy and give excuse for everything..
Ships are never meant to be on the harbour they are meant to sail. Thats what life is about you have go out of the safety net and explore.
But needless to say there has be limits, a small boat cannot stand a storm but a ship would. So it gets to the point where we need to know what are we a ship, boat etc. You might argue if i am the small boat i would never go a mile outside the harbour. I would say i disagree!!
You have to be a little creative. One normal thought process would be try and be bigger and strengthen yourself. Well yes... but a better thing is why not sail beside a big ship and cross the ocean. The BIG BROTHER is there to protect. Annother way of looking would be do i need to behave like a boat. Who said boat cannot have wings. Its light maybe it can fly .... well thats what the first species must have thought when they took the first step to move on land...

This is something I have been saying to myself for a long time. Taking life as it comes! Actually it means both :-) Sometimes you have this spark in you and want to achieve something then whatever comes you are able to overcome it.. and then in certain stages in life you give up and take whatever comes your way! So sometimes you take life as it comes and fight it and during some tough times you take life as it comes and endure it..
Its like saying "All roads lead to ROAM!!
